Still ann mayburn5/9/2023 ![]() ![]() I was going to tell you when you got better, but then Ramón took off, and I never heard from him again. “Because it all happened so fast! It was while you were still healing after the attack, and you were still in so much pain. Moving on…why didn’t you tell me this before?” Making a sour face, Hannah said, “Yuck, stop right there. Who believes guys when they say things like that? I knew he was too good at eating pussy to be true.” I nodded, big fat tears spilling down my cheeks. I feel like I’m losing my mind, doubting it even happened.”įrowning, Hannah held up her hand. None of what happened between us makes any sense. Now I’m alone, and I miss him, and I’m worried about him, even if he is an asshole. He made it sound like we were going to be together forever and then he just took off. He was…he was so nice to me, so sweet, and he said he loved me. “Joy,” Hannah snapped, “what in the ever-loving fuck is going on?” Shit, I must look as big of a hot mess as I felt. I pulled my hand away from hers to nod and uselessly wipe at my damp face. ![]()

Casa tomada julio cortazar english5/9/2023 ![]() ![]() In the screenplay I wrote I chose to merge it with another story in the collection Bestiary (1951) entitled Letter to a Young Lady in Paris. What expunges the brother and sister out of their own house is their own dreams, fears and obsessions. ![]() I think that this completely misses out on the point of the story. Prior to commencing writing it, a teaching assistant read the story and said (I am paraphrasing here): “The story is open-ended you could choose to show what it is that throws them out of the house and what happens when they leave it.” When writing a screenplay for an A2 Film Studies assignment, I chose to make an adaptation of Julio Cortázar’s short story House Taken Over. I have not proof-read it, nor has a lecturer made modifications to it, so it is a bit rough on the edges. This essay, I must stress, was written purely for entertainment value and was not submitted for any academic course. I make mention of another story called 'Letter to a Young Lady in Paris', but I could not find the text on the internet. ![]() If you think you can have a stab at reading it in Spanish, or if you are bilingual, click here. ![]() To read 'House Taken Over' in English click here. Most of it was written, sporadically, over the last few hours, although I had started it a couple of weeks ago. ![]()

This lullaby by sarah dessen5/8/2023 ![]() Remy starts hanging out with Dexter and his bandmates more and more, but she freaks out as her guard goes down. Even though his own mother’s had her share of failed marriages, he’s not the cynic Remy is when it comes to love. He’s clumsy, messy and relentlessly positive. Dexter can’t be as easily categorized as all the other guys Remy’s loved and left. Remy avoids ever falling in love by becoming a serial dater-and-dumper in fact, she’s got such a routine that her BFFs can always tell when she’s ready to run.īut then Remy meets Dexter…or, rather, Dexter literally bumps into her and then refuses to leave her life. The only connection Remy has to her own father is a song he wrote for her right after she was born. ![]() And who can blame her? She just helped her romance-novelist mother plan her 5th wedding, and Remy’s had a front row seat to the demise of all her mother’s previous marriages. ![]()
